Timezone feat. John Lydon & Bill Laswell - "World Destruction": "
'World Destruction' is considered by some to be the real first rap/rock song. Released in 1984, this predated Run DMC & Aerosmith's 'Walk This Way' by two years. Time Zone was a brief project fronted by hip hop godfather Afrika Bambaataa. He would work with a different artist for each project. This song was arranged by Bill Laswell once he found out that Afrika and John Lydon (Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols) had a mutual admiration for each others' work. Not the most uplifting song, lyric-wise, but a great collaboration between all parties involved, and you can dance your ass off to it.
